Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Grape Leaves: Drain the jarred grape leaves and rinse them under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels. Remove any tough stems.

  2. Mix Filling Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rinsed rice, onion, garlic, dill, parsley, lemon juice, cumin, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  3. Assemble Stuffed Leaves: Lay a grape leaf flat on your work surface with the shiny side down. Place about 1 tablespoon of the rice mixture near the stem end. Fold in the sides and roll tightly from the bottom up, forming a neat little package. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.

  4. Layer and Simmer: In a large pot or Dutch oven, arrange the stuffed grape leaves seam-side down in layers. Pour the vegetable broth over them to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 40-45 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
